I think you can count on that, Mr. Weasel.

Things change so fast in Al, Jr.'s life that I can barely keep up. Canceled his trip to Kansas due to extreme heat and onset of deer season. Will reschedule later. Nedra continues to improve at a rapid pace, doing a lot of walking with her cane and no walker. This encourages me tremendously, as she is really trying now. The surgeon is well pleased, challenging her to accelerate her improvement.
I had a minor accident a week ago, and it aggravated the spot in my left, low back, throwing m y progress back a good deal. Trying to tone up for overall conditioning, etc.I'd like to be as tough as she is

Recovering again, seems like a never ending process. Starting to get some cooler nights, really causing the itch to really come on strong. Al, Jr. (4 Paws) working crazy hours at Whitetail Haven, cutting down his hunting during hot days and nights.
All getting closer to having Pappy and Son after their butts with a vengeance. Great farms lined up and ready, equipment improving, technique and planning improving----watch out Wiley, better sharpen up quick!! P.S. Wife, Nedra, continuing to recover, and starting a really beneficial new physical therapy today. She is 95% weaned from the walker, using a cane more and more, and this new therapy will speed up her strength and walking. Looking forward to relaxing walks with her within the next two or three weeks. Very gratifying, as I have said before, to see her rewarded for her courage and effort.

Nedra is an inspiration for sure. She must be a very strong woman.

Weasel, as you said once before, maybe twice, this old possum has a strong willed side, but I am a sniveling weakling compared to Nedra. This new therapy with zero gravity is helping already. I have lots of confidence now.

I probably should have started a new thread, but decided to update here. Nedra is improving daily, but has had a rough time of it last six months. Just when she was improving so rapidly from the back issues, she had eye surgery for supposedly a simple problem, getting rid of sagging eyelid. Problem is, the surgeon cut her eye, and she was virtually blind for over three months, and under the care of a top notch retina expert. He has brought her along to where she can see with glasses, but in the three months while down, her back issues returned, and that surgeon is treating her again. Prayers for her are appreciated. If being tough wins out, she will win for sure.
I had the iFusion surgery on my low back on May 10, just ended the first two weeks of rehab. Surgeons say it went perfectly, but I am still pretty sore, and arthritis is doing its dirty work. Next appt. is about three weeks away, and I can't do anything strenuous in the meantime. Trying to go for lots of short walks daily, and working on toning up mostly with isometric exercise. I have two rifles ready to go, and may get in a hunt or two before it gets too grown up and too hot. If not, fall will be my target time. I hope all members are in good health and spirits. More later.

I had back fusion surgery and was told by the surgeon that I could go hunting. My primary doctor told me NO. I should have listened to my primary. Dr. I ended up fracturing another vertebra. Take it easy, Al. Prayers for Nedra. She's a trooper for sure.

Hi Weasel and all members: I have been in and out of the hospital for the past four months, but I am making some progress. Got out for one late afternoon stand yesterday, and had two or three groups respond to my howling, but all too far away to expect them to show up with time restraints on daylight. Still, it was great to see that beautiful red sky at sunset. It was dandy!
My grandson, Jonathan Sexton, who I started training at age 13, now has two children, and he has developed into one of the best predator hunters I have ever seen, and great on ducks and geese, and kills big bucks every year. His 10 year old son, Maddox, killed a great buck on Youth Hunting day about 6 weeks ago. Jonathan has killed 3 big coyotes in the last two days, two of them monster males. I'll try to post pictures when I get my mind right. Nedra is also still getting better, getting close to her final procedure on her low back. She is way too tough to give up, and I'll never give up on her. We now have 14 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and 2 more due soon. Lot of Possums!! Hope all of you are well, and have a great Thanksgiving. Possumal Foxpro Field Staff

Forgot to post that Nedra and I celebrated our 64th wedding anniversary on Nov. 13. Got to be the luckiest possum on earth to have been blessed with her in my life, and the great family that continues to grow. Just had our 20th great grandchild born this week, Charlotte James Sexton, a sure keeper.
