Just picked up my new predator rifle!!! Can't wait to see how it performs on fox & yotes!!!! Brand new CZ 527 American varmint 17 hornet!!!! Brought it home bore sited,cleaned and took it to range and man is it a tack driver!!! I've heard a lot of good about cz and this is my first. I am a huge fan now! :sniper:

Very cool! Just last night I was admiring that rifle in that caliber while doing an online search. Let us know how you like it in the field.

Will do. Weather not going to be to friendly next few days but as soon as it settles I'll be getting back out to break her in. Spent all my cash on the rifle, cleaning supplies and ammo so had to put my el cheapo bushnell banner on it for now but hope to put better glass on it soon.

Now send the magazine off to Roy Berlatto and get it cut down to a flush mount and it will be a real shooter.

How would cutting the magazine down make it a shooter? Am i missing something here?

New cz is flawless! Every fox taken so far has been DRT! Taken a few reds and one grey so far with it. Only 2 with noticable holes all others i couldnt find the tiny hole till i skinned em out. The first hole was a fox i shot head on in the chest at 30yds. It popped up over a hill to my right and it was do or die kinda moment. Shot hit tad low cuz im shot in at 100 went in and back out an inch or so lower. Exit was about a quarter size hole. Other fox with a little damage was one i hit on the run in a heat of the moment i shot a little off n took out upper half of leg then it tried to run off again and sentba second into his back. But still all holes sewn up and not noticible. This has been a great gun so far with very very little fur damage and DRT FOX. Cant wait to get my first shot on a yote.

Congratulations on the CZ .17 Hornet....I tried to get one but gave up on locating one?I do have the CZ 527 Varmint in the .204,great shooting and puts the a Coyotes down!


I think O.B. Wallace is talking about how the long bullet clip hangs down too far and can get in the way or be cumbersome at times...I know mine tends to dig into my back when carrying it via my strap in warmer weather when using a light jacket or just a Camo shirt on!

Cutting down the clip is more of a Convenience thing than making it a better Shooter!

Havent noticed any clip issues with it. Infact this has quickly become my favorite firearm. Im definitely a cz fan now. Good luck finding a 17 hornet. I absolutely live mine. Cant wait to take care of some whistle pigs with it this summer too.
