We had lots of different coyotes howling at daylight but we were only able to call in three yotes and I put just one of them in the back of the truck. I flat out shot over a chip shot and one caught Gordon moving. Great morning tho and nice to have a hunting partner that enjoys hunting coyotes like I do!

Spent another day hunting with Gordon ( Navy 7797 ) we called in six coyotes and put three in the back of the truck. We are starting to figure out how to hunt together and it will put more fur in the back of the truck. We should have put two more in the truck but no shots were fired and one got down wind on us. I get credit for two coyotes.

I checked this morning before I left the house and no new picture image poste on FP web site so I am using February's picture image.
Made a big mistake this morning, climbed up to one of my Gray Fox hunts and only took the shells that the Benelli holds. You know what happens next. Yes I called in seven Grays and only had shells enough for four of them. Killed four but one fell or crawled down in a crack in the rocks and I couldn't reach him. Not sure how he got in there but he was down so deep. The crack wasn't big enough for my arm to even fit down in the crack. I needed some barbwire but it would have been a couple hours to make that happen so I left him there. I had to set there and watch the other three Gray Fox's run off.

Default I knew it

Roger I knew you would slay'em today. I guess you'll keep a few extra shells in the pocket. Go back with a treble hook and fish that fox out. Good luck tomorrow.

It's Murphy's Law, Roger, and it never fails. Bet that was a fun stand...at least until you ran out of ammo.

Today was as exciting as it gets but I was only able to put one in the back of the truck, big older male. If I would have been using a rifle and be able to shoot as good as Robb I would have filled the back of the truck with coyote bodies. As it were I was using my Benelli and the coyotes just stayed outside shotgun range. I switch to rifle on my last stand ( 12 Noon ) and I had a double standing in front of me at about 100 yards. I dropped the male but missed the female two times which would have been a chip shot for Robb.

Bird dog,

I haven't been online in a while and had no idea you and Robb were cleaning out all the coyotes in AZ! Keep after them. It looks like maybe a photo finish in the making!
