BrimmyFish, NICE looking Toy, I have been thinking about going out to Cabela's up here. They list them as being in stock @ $499.99. What kind of Bipod is that??

The bipod is just a cheap one that I bought from wal Mart a few years ago. I think it's a shooters ridge. I cannot say enough about how impressed I am with this rifle!!!!

I am glad to hear that the Model 25 in 17 Hornet has made such a great impression on you.
I have one on Order at my local gun dealer. I am excited to get it so I can sight it in for a little winter critter calling. JT |

I don't think you will be disappointed with your purchase. How long did your dealer tell you it would take to get it in? Just curious bc I've only saw them at larger sports stores like dicks sporting goods so far. Our local gun shops still say their distributors have them all allocated. That's why I ended up getting mine off gun broker bc I couldn't wait.

He actually did not say how long.
Just that none were avail "right now" (this was last tuesday). Dick's told me they could have it in 10-12 days and it would be over $30 more there. Not a killer amount but every little bit helps. I was quoted $490 and considering the shipping and ffl costs I would accrue at gunbroker I decided to stick with my local dealer. The owner at my local shop is very fair on his prices and I can order things with no money down and even make payments of whatever amount I choose as frequenly or infrequently as I choose until it is paid for. No pressure. He is very good that way and so I decided to get it from him and wait. I plan to call him tuesday and see if he knows more about an ETA. I hope it is not too long because I would like to get it sighted in and whatnot before the real cold weather sets in. I bought 50 rounds of ammo for it so far and will be getting another 50 to 100 for it next payday. It will wear a scope that is on my Marauder Air rifle at the moment. It is a Hawk Digi Nite-Eye 4-16x50 side focus AO. I am going to put a 3-9 or a cheaper 4-16 on my Marauder for a while until I can afford another Hawke or something similar. I will let you know if I get more info or if it comes in. JT |

Which model are you getting? Lightweight varminter or walking varminter?

It will be a Walking Varminter.
For a hunting rig, I liked the idea of a 2" shorter barrel, lighter weight and durability of the synthetic stock. I may even try after this season to do a diy camo job on the stock. JT |

The 17 Hornet has finally hit Idaho. Sportsman's in Twin had a synthetic and a wood. Bought the wood stock because of the 2" longer barrel. Should have a scope on it by Friday. And if the wind is not blowing a group test and velocity test Saturday. I have been waiting almost a year for this thing. It had better shoot straight. I will let you know the results.

Awesome Clint.
You guys sure are lucky. Dealer today said the Waliking Varminter still shows no stock and he has no idea how long I could be waiting. JT |
