Default Sickly looking coyote & deer shed

Started the morning at first light in back field finding nice shed antler. Later I saw this sad looking coyote (female) and ended what would probably be a rough winter for her. Fired up the backhoe and she is deep enough that no other canine can contract the mange I suspected. (please confirm)

No calling, no bait pile, no impressive story save that it was my first coyote kill and first blood for my Ruger .17 WSM. She was dead before she hit the ground. Tiny entrance wound just behind her right shoulder and as far as I could tell it exited her left ear. This should not have been the trajectory. Must have bounced around in there a little.

Fun day in Western Mass. all the same,
