Default Yellowhammer's 2013-13 contest pics

Looking forward to it again this year.

Started warming up this week while I was in Wyoming on a pronghorn hunt.

Got this triple at the 8 minute mark. Started with Fem. coyote howl #3 followed by jackrabbit distress. The 25-06 did the rest at 200 yards. All three were killed in about 30-seconds to a minute from first to last.

Off to a slow start this year in large part to deer season, but deer season is winding down.

Got this coon at the 12 minute mark of the first stand after dark to bay bee cottontail. Thought is was going to be a cat at first.

I hope to have a better showing in Jan-Feb.

Made a little trip to South Texas this weekend.

First evening I got a triple in response to a female howl and pup distress after the shooting the first one.

And that night I got a 26.5 pound bobcat that I didn't find until the next morning.

The next morning I got a single at the 38 minute mark.

That night I got another triple, but again the 3rd one was a runner I didn't find until this morning.

Here is the while pile minus the bobcat that was already skinned along with a hog from this morning.

Hunted all evening and night with Venatic. We only called in one coon and one cat and the coon got away.

Got one in the woods today. Should have gotten two but these narrow lanes don't offer much opportunity.

Hunted with Randy Reeves in northern part of East Texas the last couple of days. Only managed to call one coyote yesterday and got him. Passed on a coon after dark and may have had a fly by coyote, but not sure.

This was a big coyote. We were about a mile from the truck, but I walked back with the camera to take the picture. I wish I had gotten a weight. Nice dark coyote.

We got up and drove about 45 minutes to another spot this morning. First stand a coyote popped out, and I was afraid he was about to get our wind. I took the frontal shot and thought I hit, but he ran back into a thicket and I couldn't find him. 2 stands later we had a coyote come from behind us at about a minute and a half to within 15 feet but not shot and another downwind at 5 minutes that offered no shot either.

Very nest stand had crows mobbing at the 3 minute mark, and this cat emerged about a minute or so later. Made a few more stands but saw nothing else.
