Hello from southern Wv.

Hi everone. I'm new to the sport of predator calling and this site. Just got my new spitfire yesterday. Very pleased with the sound and quality of it. I am a little disappointed though because I've been out three times already...yesterday afternoon for about three hrs. , this morning for about four hrs. , and this evening for about an hr. after dark with no results. I know theres plenty of coyotes and bobcats in the area I'm hunting because of trail cam pics, tracks in the snow and scat everywhere. Guess this isnt as easy as what I thought. Hope I can soon figure these critters out.

Welcome to the Foxpro Forums. This is usually a tough time of year to call predators. The dumb ones have been killed and the smart ones are left.
Starting in Sept. it will be easier for a few months.

Welcome, I've recently started using a spitfire too (in the UK), and all I can say is keep persevering and I'm sure you'll have success soon. After all, if we were successfull every time we went out it wouldn't be called hunting, it'd be called killing!

Welcome to the forums. Try to find a place on the property that you can go and have elevation to your advantage and the wind. My favorite time for a quick easy hunt is about an hour before sunset. Good luck and go get 'em. Dan

Thanks guys! Just came in from crow hunting. Man, that call sure works good on them. Only got one, but it sure is fun shooting. Getting pumped right now to go coyote hunting with a friend on a farm this evening/night that has never been hunted. He says he's been hearing them quite a bit hear lately. I just hope we dont educate them to much because lack of having a decoy yet. Think I'll try to make a make shift one now for the hunt. Wish me luck

Welcome aboard, Love is in the air and they might be preoccupied. Heard its a good time for yote vocals, something to try. My wife attended WVU, is that considered higher education anywhere else? :-) couldn't resist!
