I see that there is a bullet company called Reed's that offers 17cal bullets. I ordered 100 of their 26gr Rebated Boat-tail VLD Hollow Points. They also offer 25gr, 29gr, and 32gr Bullets for the 17.
Has anyone used these bullets in their 17's? I will be giving them a try in my 17 Remington. Called Todd Kindler six weeks ago and he is out of production, I did however get his last Box of 25gr Golds and have a box of his 23gr. I just started load development for my new CZ 527 17 Remington........CZ's never stop impressing me with their accuracy....Factory Varmageddon 20gr HP gave me my first group of .481 Plus their trigger is second to none. I have a CZ 527 in the 17 Hornet and get groups in the high 3's using CFE BLK Fed 205 and the 20gr Nosler HP 1.700 COAL Purchased a CZ 527 in the .221 FB its still in the box waiting for its turn in load development. Next on my list is the .204. Its hard to consider a custom when the factory CZ will shoot right next to them for $1000 less. My 17 Hornet shoots the same groups size as my friends Cooper its just that he paid $1600 more for his Rifle Last edited by Rimrockhunter; 03-23-2017 at 01:25 PM. |

I shot a couple groups with the 29's in my .17P last year. Was looking like it was going to take more effort to get them to shoot in my rifle than I was willing to put forth. So I never did try them on coyote. Have heard they are killing well for some though.

Reeds bought the equipment from Genco bullet co. When Chappie still made the bullets I shot a lot of his 25gr. bullets. They did really well.
It was sad when he sold out, but I wish all the best to Reeds. |
