Default Turkey advice

A buddy of mine went for turkeys this weekend didn't see one, I don't do much turkey huntin, only killed one in texas with a bow. Any advice on calling turkeys & the best place to hunt them in thick forest areas? Thanks guys heard you don't overcall

Entire books have been written on the subject. Hopefully somebody with more experience than I will offer a few tips.

Scouting is key, know where they want to go after they jump off the roost. You will have a hard time pulling birds away from live hens. After some experience you then will be able to kinda read the adatude of the birds to know how much and type of calling to do.

I proved a long time ago that when a really big boss tom is henned up with a boss hen, they will act like they don't even hear you and just keep on following her. After she has laid and slipped off from the tom, he remembers where he heard that hot sounding hen, and he'll come back in, stopping and clucking every once in a while. So, don't give up.
