Whenever possible, but the best times are early morning, followed by late evening. But if I can, I hunt all day.

I've had about all of my luck in the mornings. I have only killed one at night, but I much prefer the mornings. Easier to shoot doubles that way!

Coyotes start their night's activities about 30 minutes before complete dark and hunt all night up to bedding time next mid morning. If you are trying to choose between early morning and late afternoon, I prefer early morning as it gives you a long window of opportunity. Late afternoon has always produced some of my biggest males, who sneak in at last light. Don't know much about actually hunting them at night.
