headed out for the last morning, as I head to Florida tomorrow at light. It was windy but some fresh tracks made things interesting. Wind in my face in a low small field and a couple short howls, one long howl and silent for 2 minutes and then rabbit distress and 2 minutes there he is.

Nice coyote good calling.
BUT In your Pics, you have your mouth calls laying on the coyote ??????? OMG! Man, I hope you wash and sanitize them before you put them back in your mouth. I don't know about where coyotes roam but I do know where our's do. I have gloves on when I handle them and put them in a carry/Drag bag as soon as possible. Not just from the flees, lice and tick dut the horrible stuff they carry and roll in. Not to mention all the blood pathogens they can carry any drips or spray, on there fur. Some stuff like Parvo there is NO treatment for you can die. JUST SAYING. ![]() ![]() ![]()

So coyotes roll in a few alley apples or cow pies or an occasional gut pile only time I worry about "contagious" pathogens is when they are mangy then I don't even touch them.
Agree with you Jwfritz, besides if my memory serves me right I believe we eat over a bushel of dirt in our life time anyhow. Just like all the Urban dwellers that worry about "Beaver Fever" whenever they are out in the woods around here. Not sure if it is luck or have built up an immunity but been drinking out of the mountain rivers and streams for nigh on 30 years and never got sick, just have to remember to drink upstream from the herd. Plus 2 things to consider 1 How I'm gonna be ROFLMBO when all those health nuts are laying in the hospital dying of nothing 2. Each and everyone of us is dying from the day we are born " Life begins at conception Death begins at birth"

Dirt is not a concern.
But anything they roll in is. P dogs Cary many other things including the Plague. There is no evidence that CWD can be transmitted to People from a third party But, do you want to be ground zero? It just goes on and on. I'm not a sissy and have hunted coyotes and collected the fur for well over 45 years. Through the years I'm sure I have inhaled far worse things then coyote dander but why would you ignore some so simple to avoid? Just for the record there blood and saliva is Far worse than anything ON their fur. Laugh if you want maybe a one in a million shot but, why deliberately take a chance? Do what you want. I just would hate to read about your misfortune in some article in a medical journal... ![]()
