Just received a blow by blow account of a recent hunt by my grandson, Jonathan. He is a real good hunter for all species and a real good turkey caller. A couple of mornings ago, he had his full shaggy camo on, and was standing, nestled back into a small bunch of cedars on a hillside. He was yelping and cutting trying to lure a big turkey into his shooting lanes.
A big male coyote, who may have seen a slight movement but thought it was where the turkey was calling from came charging down the hill from about 200 yards away, heading straight for Jonathan. He finally realized that coyote was heading straight for him, and had to shoot him when he was only about 20 yards away and bearing down on him. Jonathan said it really gave him a rush, especially when he realized he had to do something or possibly be attacked. No pictures sent. Sorry about that. He nearly cut that coyote in half with that 12 gauge.
