Default Coyote and deer

I have only been fur hunting for about a year. So i am not sure if it is coincidence or the way it normally is. It seems that every time I get a coyote to come in there are deer within 50-100 yards of where the critter came from. Is this a good rule to follow that when there are deer there are coyotes or is this purelly coincidental?
Thanks for any and all input.

Don't know about your neck of the woods, but if it happened here it would be coincidental.

Dont know about deer, but birds like buzzards and crows are a coyote magnet.
I actually start some of my stands off with crow frenzy calls...

Same way in wolf country with ravens and magpies.

Probably coincidental.

I'm not saying all the time, but probably 30% of the time I call in deer on the same stand as a coyote if I am using jackrabbit or fawn distress sounds. Late in the winter our deer yard up and the best hunting is around the deer yards, so you always see deer on stand.

Default Living in the rockies

It happens all the time here in the rockies. A big herd with fawns will get brave and look to stomp my foxpro. We see single coyotes chasing deer and elk. I think they do it to get them to brake a leg. So here its more usual then not.

Thanks for the replies. The more people i talk to say that seeing coyotes around deer is a common event here in Pa.
