I have not but xnavy has shot two of my loads. Saubier forums has a lot of 17HH info if you like to study.

Thanks for the picture brimmy, nice shooting! Brimmy did you try any other powders before 1680 and what were your results like if you did?

XNAVY sounds like the 23 gr might do a number on close range foxes?

Thanks. I actually tried lil gun first, when I still had my savage m25. But i didn't like it bc I was showing signs of excessive pressure (primers flattening, sticky bolt, etc). The best I did with the lil gun was about an inch. Just remembered, I don't know if you've already tried this but you can go to this site and in the top right corner select your state and it will show you which retailers that carry their powder in your area.

Hope this helps!!

No worries.......I think we few 17HH operators need to stick close.....and share success with loads, accuracy, kills, etc....the ultimate 17HH load will be able to effectively put down a yote within reasonable distance (say 100yds and under) and not split a fox in half....may be a hard puzzle to solve.

Possibly. Hard to tell. Have not shot a fox with it. However, the closer GHOGS were a mess. GHOG skin is tougher than fox....

Both were very accurate out of my Savage M25. Still waiting to get that 25GR pill downrange at a GHOG.

Thanks brimmy il have to check that out. Iv been avoiding lil gun but it may at least be worth a try.
XNAVY yeah groundhogs are a lot thicker skinned and denser than a fox. Could be a bad sign if it's tearing them up. Some called foxes may only be 50 yards.

Yup. One of those foxes in my avatar was shot under 20yds with the factory 20GR VMAX....ripped it up pretty good.

Yeah I believe it. How did the factory 20 gr. perform for you overall on fox?
