Spitfire vs. Wildfire

I still haven't ordered. Just checked cabela's again and the backorder says 0-1 week wait...not bad at all.

One question, I want to order from Cabela's simply because I have points built up there that I can use, and they have 20 more dollars off orders over 150 right now, so I can get it for a little over 200.

How hard is it to put different sounds on the unit once I order it? And does every Foxpro come with some sort of subscription to access the sound files on their website?

It's a cake walk. Just make sure you follow the directions! takes about 2 minutes once you get the hang of it. I have different cards I use depending if I am hunting Mountain Lions, Coyotes, etc. I suggest setting them up this way. Here is the link to all the sounds:

I really like the idea of foxbang...however it is not the selling point. My main concern is volume of the call and it seems like a lot of folks using the spitfire use an external speaker which I really don't want to have to deal with. that is my main reason for leaning wildfire. Do you guys have a lot of trouble with the spitfire without an extra speaker?

I have called coyotes in from over a mile away in wide open country using the spitfire with no external speaker. Use a tripod and get it up off the ground and the sound really gets out there!

I second that, I use a setup similar to yote'sniper, except I use the following setups:
Monopod with 1/4" threaded head(bolt). I bought it this way.

1.The first picture is my setup on normal flat low grasslands with rolling hills.

2. The second is my setup that I use in tall grasses and thick draws to get the call & decoy up and out of the grass. It can extend up to 36"

Hope this helps. I am not sure if the Wildfire is capable of being louder than the Spitfire just buy itself. That is a question for someone with more knowledge than I.

LOL - know what you mean.

You should see the collection of super high powered LED flashlights that I've been collecting over the last couple of years.

Wife always says, "Geez, you got another flashlight, what are you going to do with that? You've got one on all your rifles and then some..."

Well, besides all my hunting activities, we live out in the woods with no street lights or no lights at all except what you brought with you. So now, when she walks down to the horse stables at night, she's got a 1,000 lumen flashlight to light the way!!! Ha ha....

I'd be in hot water if she was not benefiting from my flashoholic addiction!

Firestorm, Firestom , Firestorm. Firestorm was meant to be! I started with an fx 3 and 1 year later I have the Firestorm! Don't sell yourself short. Worth every penny and more. I use mine for crows and deer too. You can load it up with sounds and always have a new sound. If you don't you will upgrade later. Im tellin ya! This stuff is addicting and you need a Firestorm. It will be all you need! You gotta have the good remote. Avoid the old stuff.
