Default Wolf hunt is on in wisconsin

ell gentlemen I'm in a pickle!
Wisconsin is going to have a wolf season but it's only going to be one week. Starting tomorrow you can apply for a tag or just a preference point. 4000 tags will be permitted to hunters. I have 2 points from our past seasons but I don't know if I should try for a tag being its only 1 week season this year versus a 3 month season. I have no scouting in, at least an hour drive or more to get into a good population area. ????? If I don't try for a tag and the powers at bay put them back on the no kill list again I'm waiting another few years. WHAT TO DO....

Flip a coin? Ether that or just go for it and keep your fingers crossed. What ever you decide to do, I wish you luck.

I just took the preference point. Still 10.00 bucks but I can't see the hunt lasting the full week, 4000 tags and 200 wolfs to be the cut off. Ill cross my fingers and hope for the best. With any luck there will be a season next year.

The 3 hunting zones closest in my are are closing tomorrow already. Quotas already met. Guess there are more wolfs around than they thought. Go figure.

215 is last count I saw, amazing the #'s and location and of many wolves taken...Goal was to establish northern part of state and Zone 6 had no problem.

Fingers crossed current staff does not reverse state of being de-listed...and also that my state MN get's their stuff together for season this next fall/winter
