So far the ruger has been about flawless, hopefully it'll continue to be that way.

The magazine was the other big selling point for me. Nice to have a magazine or two in your pocket ready to go when you get out of the truck.

I had the ruger 17 hornet.
It had a shotgun pattern at 100 yrds. Bullet holes all over the place. Replaced trigger with little help. 900 in the gun and took a loss of over 50% when sold it. My first and last ruger. Hit and miss they say on their 77 models. 2 piece bolt dont help. The primers was backing out a bit also from pocket. Sent to ruger they said it was the ammo. I bought a case of HH ammo. Bought a cz 17 hornet, same ammo used in the ruger and that cz is almost a tack driver with that factory ammo. .5 or less at 100 yrds. So when I start the reload session in warmer weather, I know it will drive tacks. I liked the feel of the ruger and the laminate stock. But the powder coat finish on barrel scratched up very easy, also along with the crappy 6+lb factory trigger and 2 piece bolt, along with the pattern it put out, just turned me off on ruger arms. But congrats on yours being a shooter. Would of liked mine to been also. |
