Yes, same story here for the wind. That is why I prefer the heavy bullets. My goal when I built my 22-250 was to get close to my 7 Mag's trajectory, because it was so much easier to smoke them...

If you are going to shoot prairie dogs, I would go with the 223, because barrel life is substantially longer. I had a Rem 788, that I shot over 13,000 rounds through, and it still shot 5/8" groups....

223 is hard to beat for yotes and prairie dogin. If you want to reach way out there just go to the 75 gr A-max bullets. For deer the 243 is excellent. I use the 95 gr ballistic tip for my grandsons...

Very good way to explain it. I always believed set up to be at least 80% and the calling 20% but consider the wind part of the setup. You are right on target and probably pretty darned successful...
