Does anybody shoot a 25-06? If so I want to know what works good for loads, for varmints and dogs.

I reload for my .223, 22-250, .243, and 7mm WSM. I bought a 25-06 barrel for my TC prohunter and was planning on reloading for it also. I decided not to reload for it because it shot great with Hornady Custom 117gr. soft points. It shoots awesome with those. Several of my friends shoot 25-06's also and they claim to be accurate with about any load. But I only use the 25-06 for deer hunting. I have heard that they're great guns for dogs and varmints also, but I just havent because of my other guns. The 25-06 is flat-shooting with little recoil. My girlfiend has killed more deer with my 25-06 than I have. There are several bullet weights for this caliber so I think it should work well for about anything. Hope that helps!!

probably overkill on a yote but will certainly do the job if you don't care about the fur. I have a friend that killed a deer with one this year and he ended up losing a large portion of the meat. I know he was shooting a Nosler bullet but don't know the weight or the powder type.

I agree Hornady Custom 117gr. soft points. good Load the 25.06 can be loaded down for Yotes

If it’s a handload your looking for I‘ve owned two 2506 over the years and my less than big game load has been IMR or Hogden 4831 depending which shot better and a Speer 100 grain hot core but since there doing away with the hot core line but I have a few 100 to shoot up then I’ll be moving to a Nosler ballistic tip or Sierra pro hunter 100 gr

It is a very versital round. I have used it for deer and yotes. Anywhere from the 85 gr nosler to the 117 gr bullets. 4831 and 4350 have a very good fit for it.

Again Good info: the 25.06 can be loaded with 69 Grain cast, 75 Grain Jacketed this is a good Yote round IMR 4064 51.0 grains of powder with a Velocity reaching at 3740 fps that has your bullet energy at 2330,
Now you have 87 Grain Jacketed,90 Grain cast, and 100 Grain in both cast and Jacket
