I used a digital audio recorder to capture sounds in WAV format and loaded these files on my Scorpion X1-B using the programming utility. The loading process was easy. The problem is these self recorded sounds which play with excellent quality on my computer and other play back devises are unuseable on the Scorpion. The recordings playback too slow and are broken up. How can I make these sounds compatible with my Scorpion? Thanks.

Rick Ennen:

If you click on one of the sounds and then go to properties and then summary; what is the bit rate and audio sample size of the file?

1411kbps, 7.84MB, about 45 seconds.

The bit rate of the wav files I have used is 352 kbps and the audio sample size is 16 bit. See if you can not get these sounds of yours edited to this and I believe they then should be ok.

Thanks Scott. I wondered about this but wanted to ask first before trying to figure out how to convert the file. I used Audacity to change to 16 bit and then exported to MP3 file format which got it down to 128 kbps and 489 kb file size. Works great in the caller now.
