Default Mountain Lion

So we took out the Spitfire for the first time this week and called in two mountain lions. Unfortunately for us, we can't shoot them when they are traveling in pairs. Two other hunters got to see the call in work too; one a bow hunter in a tree stand, and the other a black powder hunter in a blind. The lions went right by both of them. Neither had a lion tag, they were hunting for their doe's. Anyway we got done and talked to them later...they were so excited they got to see a real mountain lion in the wild...we on the other hand were just SICK!!! If you only knew how many miles and hours we've put into these hunts for the past 5 years, I know you all would sympathize with us! My hunting buddy got one last year...when I was on bed rest from knee surgery, so this was a real kick in the shorts for me. The cool thing is we know the call sequence works. We actually used 2 spitfires and programmed them identical except a couple calls so it sounds like animals fighting when we played them. A couple times they weren't exactly in unison, so we just hit send again and they synced up every time! The other hunters were amazed at how realistic it sounded. The real funny thing is that the property we were hunting on got a call asking if they had traps set in the canyon for mountain lions as it sounded like one was caught in one...lol nope it was just us! So I am pretty pumped, just no lion to show for it Some weekend pics though for your enjoyment:

105- Cat track dragging foot
106- Cat tracks in snow
107- Cat stopped to mark territory...it's still wet and freezing out...I'm closing in!
108- Close up of track...estimated at 80-90lbs....small one
109- Cat scratched the exact spot I was sitting in 2 hours earlier...shoulda been more patient...uuugggghhhhh

I've been wrong before. Infact, I've been wrong several times just today. Here's a helpful link:

Seriously, my wife has told me I am wrong about 3 different things in the last half hour. I lost count of the total number of complaints from today.
