Feline Hunting No, not the place for housecats. This is for the "other"cats, including bobcats and mountain lions (the BIG cats).

Default AZ bobcat

I've always called for bear in AZ using hand calls and have called in a good number of lions while pursuing bear as my primary target. On President's Day, I went for the first time specifically for bobcat in a brushy, rocky area in the southern part of the state. On my third stand, I called in a monster bobcat to 10 feet. The only problem was that he was 10 feet behind me, and I never saw him coming. Once I spotted him, I couldn't get to my 12 gauge quick enough as I was holding my .300 at the time waiting for a lion. About 4 or 5 stands and 2 miles later, I called in a second bobcat that held out at 66 yards and had me pinged. I decided that he was too far out for the 12 gauge, so I took him with the .300. Yes, it was overkill and blew a hole out of his back, but I sewed it back up and can use the tanned skin for animal science in my 5th grade classroom.
