Default Caldwell Deadshot FieldPod

Is the Caldwell Magnum DeadShot FieldPod $100 better than the Caldwell Max DeadShot FieldPod? Will the Max handle a 10 pound rifle? Anybody using both of them? Are they alike except for the legs? Do they both raise to the same height? I believe the standard FieldPod will only go to 40 inches.

I own a Field Pod Max and a Magnum. The magnum is twice as heavy, at 13 lbs. and more like a surveyor's tripod the way the legs extend. The magnum allows you to stand to shoot and is quite steady once setup. Carrying it very far is a problem. The Max pod works very well for sitting and is nice and steady, but you can't stand with it when needed.

I'd suggest a Night Stalker tripod with a Cretac mount for ease of setup, lightweight, and steady to shoot from. Also won't be any more than the Magnum price wise.
