Default Double Down

[IMG][/IMG]
Had the morning to play, weather was -21,4k SW wind. Headed for large pasture area. Followed a drainage ditch into the pasture found an area that may work. The little bush in pic is where the Fusion was and I was sitting in shade of some taller trees facing to the south. Started the set with Female Howls, right away I got Howls back and barking. She was moving closer but slowly. Hit some distress sound , still moving slowly. So Got to try one of Big Al's Favourite. Bingo there she is, jumping barking warnings. Hit the sound again and here she comes .She stops to send some more warnings barks at appx. 180 yds thats when 204 barked DRT, snow nap. Fox Bang cuts in with pup distress, I let it play a bit then go back to Distress sound. I scan the area and see another looking at the call straight to the East but He's in the Brush, I wait for Him to move, He does but stops in Brush again, He then turns to leave I bark He stops for a Second I bark again he stops the 204 barks a second time and the spin of death. DEAD A PAIR.[IMG][/IMG]

Default Howl

[IMG][/IMG]
Set up along a pasture, Fusion on fence post.I sit back in shadows of the trees.Winds out of SW and lite. I start with Howls, on the second Howl I hear a reply to SE perfect. I turn face the South. I hit the distress high volume then mute. and guess who shows up. Let her get clear and the 204 barks snow nap.
After that things slow down a lot. Dry set after dry set, Then a back door and one that went into a water run never to be seen again. Whitetail season Starts tomorrow so we'll have to see!

Default Green Light

[IMG][/IMG]
Deer Season's over.Late Elk coming. But Wife gave me green light to play but to be back by 1:00, And away we go, next to no wind out of the NW 3 k -27, but I wanted to try on some land that a friend gave me access too.Set up was on a large slough facing North to bushy area.At the 8 min. mark this male shows up. I mute the sound he stops I hit the sound again at low volume and mute it He's on the way.I'm sitting in the shadows soI'm going to let him close the distance. But he stops at 200 yds. Turns to leave and I try to stop him , he gets behind some bush. But then I see him again This time I get him to stop at appx. 300yds. I let the 204 bark and see him jump and spin in scope. I keep the call going but no more takers. A bit of track job but Mr.Berger does the job. snow nap. Next set was dry. Last set seen Three coming to app.500 yds. But that's all. I figured it out when I left the wind switched to the West and Coyotes were Straight east. Oh well, But I was home on time.

Default Sometimes

[IMG][/IMG]
The other day it was -29 but Lite wind, First set dry. On the next set Fusion hanging on fence post I'm sitting by a small tree facing to the South, SE wind about 2k. Just going to start my sequence, Remote hits my scope and FB goes off with pup distress. Finally I get it shut off and start some howls. It wasn't even three min. mark this big male comes down the trail. I swing on him, he stops looking at me when I let the 204 bark DRT. Not even a wiggle. Mr. Berger did his job. I keep the call going but no others takers. Biggest coyote to date BUT Mangy. But sometimes things come together. That was the only one I seen all day out of Nine other sets.

Default Snow Angel

[IMG][/IMG]
Set # 2 its -29 ,no a lot of wind. Set one was dry moved a mile to east, set up on a Beaver pond with large bush to the North and with lite North wind. Fusion hanging in a tree to the west I'm in the shadows east. Had to adjust one leg on bipod as I was on bank on pond. comfortable. start my sequence back and forth with distress and Magpie fight. At just about 12 min. mark hit pup distress but only a short one. And this good looking male shows up. I hit mute and lower volume , he disappears from site, unmute call and I see him again. He stops at 150 yds. I swing on him he starts to leave my remote hits my scope and FB kicks in pup distress . He stops I let the 204 bark and Mr.Berger lets him make a snow angel. This area has been one of my go too spots.
