Default 2011 WV Bird

Hi Guys…no luck here in Delaware…only thing I got were a few ticks.

I’m kinda bummed out turkey season is over. I think I would give up all other hunting just to turkey hunt. Sigh….(though I do love predator hunting).

I was lucky in West Virginia though. By God...I love those mountains (no civilization or agriculture land for 10’s of miles).

Since patience has been thrust upon me (no more running and gunning up and down West Virginia hills…and my legs and left arm continue to get worse weekly)…I will take luck (and a sore butt from sitting in the same place all morning) any day…and I do mean luck.

I usually squeak out one every year at camp in West Virginia (sometimes two). This one only took me 7 mornings…but I got him (thick 9 inch beard). Three hens and two long beards came to my calls and decoys. I shot the bigger of the two gobblers. My all terrain wheel chair (my electric golf cart) was 10 yards behind me in the woods and did not bother them. Good thing because I could not go without it.

Here are a few cell phone pic's (yea I forgot my camera).Take care guys.

Good deal on the bird and I know what you mean about motivating. I went up to NY every May 1 for over 20 years to turkey hunt with some of my friends but don't go any more due to getting around those hills. I have to stay on the flats down in the Low Country of SC but did have a ball while I could. Good pics and thanks for sharing.

WOW! That's quite a rope on that bird. Congratulations!

Oh, I don't have the tools to change the title of your post. I can only edit content. At any rate, we will know who is paying attention.

Way to go, Trap. That's a great long beard. Nice quality pics for a cell phone, I might add
