Default Hunting in windy conditions

We have a hunt coming up this weekend and the forecast is calling for 15-25 mph wind. Any tips for calling in these windy conditions?

Second on turning volume up. Wind or not if they want to play they're gonna play. A friend and I hunted in the same type wind conditions for the same reason, its the way it played out. And it turned out to be the best night of coyote hunting I or we ever had.

15 MPH and over I stay at home unless its a competition

However, not to be a Captain Obvious, strong winds can be an advantage covering your sound and mixing up your scent like its in a blender. I think this confuses them and makes them vulnerable in their approach, if they decide to.

One night I was set up in a field with strong wind....the deer were slowly cruising right by me....very close. It was really odd as if they didn't know I was there. That same night I had a red just continue to circle around me one way then the other, then zig zagged to me. Crazy to watch.

Biggest issue in my opinion is the sound getting to them, as a stronger wind can also throw sound projection in a blender. Try to get the call as far off the ground you can....and BLAST it.

Also, from my experience in stronger wind, if you hunt standing w/tripod...make sure it is sturdy....ask how I know....lol

I guarantee that you will see more ducks in 20-25 mph winds than you will from your house cause you didn't go out hunting. Its not optimal, but ducks are strong fliers and can handle the wind. They may even be looking for a place to land and the wind may add just enough motion to the deeks to bring them in.
