Default Stiffening up the fox jack wire

Maybe it is just me but has anyone had problems with the support wire for the fox jack 1 being as loose as a cooked noodle? If so how did you manage to stiffen it up so it isn't slapping the caller?

My buddy slid about 3-4 inches of plastic drinking straw over the cable.
Used a heat gun to melt the straw onto the cable.
Works pretty good, only the top half of the cable now bends.

Well I took DogFool's idea about using a straw except I used shrink tubing. Slid about 4 inches of Black 1/8th inch shrink tubing over the cable nut at the topper end ( took a little spit to lube) to about 3/4 in above the plastic thingy where it plugs into the unit. shrunk it down and rolled it back and forth through my fingers while still warm to get good adhesion to the cable..
Now the cable stands more upright and DOES NOT slap the caller.

Thank You DogFool for the idea of using a straw Just changed it a little and so far it looks like it is just what was needed.

Jingles, FoxPro actually did what you just described. I just bought the brown furry topper for my FJ and they have about 4" of shrink tube on it. You should get some royalties.

Not likely to happen on the royalties you know as well as I do none of the businesses do that thy will say it was originally their idea. Scr-w the person that actually came up with it.
