I don't live in Texas, but I would imagine it would be the same anywhere. Early morning, Just before dark and anytime at night.

Thatís kinda what I was thinking too. We have a good number of fox and have called up several at night. Never really tried in the day time. We have a hunt this coming weekend and was gonna try and call a few fox up during daylight hours. Guess we will try just because, then go after the coyotes if it doesnít work out. Thanks!

Gray fox home range is small. Not like Bobcats, Red fox, or Coyotes. Stay close to brush, swamps etc..

Last year hunting a local contest we made our first stand at 2:30 in the afternoon. We had three Grays on the ground by 2:40. Second stand about 2:50 we had a Gray coming in that was run off by a cat that had also come in from the other side. Last weekend killed two grays on one stand at 3:00 in the afternoon. I think its key to have your decoy set up and running because they come screaming into it.

Good info guys. Thanks! I agree about calling in Texas. Thereís nothing like it! We ended up waiting till dark to hit our fox spots. Called up 12 in 4 stands and they came in quick! Fox are a lot of fun!!!
