Default 3rd Annual Maryland Predator Hunting Competition

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1...it?usp=sharing

Gonna be another great hunt. Will be doing a heaviest fox and heaviest coon contest as well (not enough coyotes kill in MD to have a heaviest coyote contest).

Thanks to the following sponsors:
FOXPRO
PRADCO Outdoors
Pennsylvania Predator Hunters Association #PPHA
Boondock Outdoors
NWTF Washington County Chapter
Immersed Illusions
Bees O'Brien Game Calls

Default Better late than never.......

We held the 3rd Annual Maryland Predator Hunting Competition 20 & 21 JAN 2018.....it was a blast as usual....I affectionately refer to it as "Predators and Pancakes".....check-in/award ceremony is also a hot breakfast!....thanks to Mrs MD Archer and Mrs XNAVYORDIE for assisting....that way I was able to help out more with critter check in and I'm sort of the "official" event photographer...LOL

As you may know MD Archer started a facebook page a few years ago...we promoted the contest through the page. It was just a way to get some like minded folks together and have fun.....it grows every year.....FoxPro has been fantastic in supporting the contest donating some great products for prizes each year. Several others have joined in with supporting the contest with prizes....Wicked Lights, All Predator Calls, PRADCO, Boondocks Outdoors, NWTF, the list goes on....almost everyone who walks in that check-in wins something....it's amazing....even if you don't bring a critter in....you can still leave with anything from a bumper sticker to lights to a FoxPro call!!!.....and a belly full of pancakes!.....and all kids received a free call from Boondocks and cool para chord lanyards!

So with that said......and being called out by the FoxPro staff (FPZack....) yesterday as a slacker at the FoxPro booth at the Great American Outdoor Show....(it's true.....I was lazy....) I will start throwing up the pics.....there is no way I will be able to get them all up....there is a ton!

There were 28 Teams that competed this year...over 140 predators were checked in.....and we had our first "weigh off" between two teams who brought in an equal amount of fox and yote....all hunting had to be in Maryland.....and we had teams from across the entire state!

First place was FoxPro Field Staff Jeremy Brown & Mike Burgess with a load of 40 fox!

Second Place was Brandon Milberry & Nick Harrison with 13 Reds and 01 Yote

Third Place was a Father/Son Team!...Parker & Justus Leimbach 12 Reds. 01 Gray and 01 Yote....a Maryland Predator Grand Slam!

Can't wait for next year.....and yes FPZack I will be more timely putting up some pics.....of course....Big Al's Happy Dance and loud "Boo Ya" motivated me a bit ( but...that's another story!)

Thanks NAVY for getting this uploaded for people to check out. Was a great year and things continue to grow. Cannot thank all of our sponsors enough for helping this grow. Best thing is all contestants, veterans or beginners, had a great time and love getting together to learn and tell stories. Hoping it will continue for years to come!

Each year more families are coming to check in with the hunters......I love it. It's like a "Predators & Pancakes Picnic".....listening to the more experienced hunters answering questions that the younger hunters ask is awesome......watching those kids running around blowing their calls is priceless......won't be long before they are checking in critters themselves!

You started a beautiful thing MD Archer and I'm proud to be a part of it!
