Default First Fox!!!

I had a great hunt the other night with two good friends. On our second setup of the night, we had a pair of foxes come in, my buddy Robbie missed on the first shot, but was given a second shot by the second fox and he made good on that. I have personally never had a fox respond to any of my calls in the last ten years of hunting, and neither had my two friends. Needless to say we were pretty excited. Can anyone help me figure out how to put pictures on this thread. I don't have good pictures but I took a few while he was in the back of the truck.
Oh yeah, we called in two coyotes later that night, but who cares, we called in a fox. hahaha

Foxes where you are must be like coyotes around here. I may call in one coyote for every 10 foxes we call in. Keep up the good work and hopefully youll be seeing more foxes in the future

brimmy fish you are right, I think in the last 5 years we have called in right at 200 coyotes and this was our first pair of foxes. To be honest, we normally would not shoot a fox around here just because they are rare and normally close to town keeping the rampant house cats in check. I actually seen one in town a couple of weeks ago after calling coyotes most of the night, he was a good fox cuz he had a dead cat in his mouth. hahaha

We have some reds here in NC but the grey foxes are everywhere. I can't remember a single night that we haven't called in at least a grey. But coyotes on the other hand are a little more scarce.

Congrants on your fox kill .We have only killed 1 fox (a gray) while calling yotes in the last five years. We have mainly red fox here, not to many greys in our area. The grey fox kill was back when my nephew and myself first started huntin together. We used mouth calls then.Nephew was callin about 30yards out to my right (rabbit distress) and this grey shows up.Comes straght in to about 15yrds of my nephew and stops.I guess the fox wanted nothin to do with a 200lb rabbit. The fox turns around and starts to leave and is leaving, then nephew hits the call and the fox turns and starts coming back to this huge rabbit, fox stops and turns to leave and is till nephew blows his call agian and the fox turns and comes back.He has this fox going around in circles for several min.The fox has no clue that iam there and after few min. of watching this show i shoot the fox.Its one of thoughs hunts we talk about, good memory. We are huntin in the day time here.

I have never seen a grey fox in this part of Illinois and most reds live near town. So many people are trying to call coyotes in our area so we have started calling more and more durng the night time hours. so far it is fun and exciting, heck we called in a coon last night trying to call in coyotes. hahah, it keeps it interesting anyway.
