Coyote Hunting Canis latrans. Ky'ote. Ky'otee. Whatever you want to call it, it's one of the most popular predators hunted in the world today.

Angry Michigan

I have a question to anyone willing to help out there ! My two sons and i went out last sunday with a spitfire call for the first time , hunted 7 spots for a period of time
30 minutes to a hour at each . There were tracks at each location and coyote scat
at different sites, we had seen coyote and fox durring deer season at each site.
But we never saw a critter sunday , we tried the rabbit and cottontail calls .

What are we doing wrong and what call do you recommend ?

Sincerely, Mark

most of the ones ive called in have been between daybreak and 10 am. i hunt state game lands with alot of young thick pines breaking up the fields . i think that gives them cover when they approach . all have been after 45 minutes of a dying bunny sound on a hand call . 10 seconds on several minutes silent. i like to find a small field area about 50 yards square in the cover of the pines. or a mashed down spot i can see a little in 6ft tall grass . i know others that hunt this same area and have zero luck. so i think it has more to do with my set up than the calling. i do want to try coyote pup dist 3 next time i get in that area of centeral pa.
