The coyote season in NY is longer then the fox season. When hunting during the fox season, where fox or coyote could show up. Ill use my 25gr.HP reloads slowed down. When hunting stickily coyotes, Ill use factory 25gr.HP. only because they can handle a little more juice before you start tearing up fur. I did try 20gr.V-MAX once. It blew 1 1/2 inch hole out the side of coyote. I don't use V-MAX , Ballistic tip etc.. in anything, I prefer HP.

I know a lot of guys love the 22-250 and they all shoot different rounds. I call mainly at night during fur season and really never had to shoot long range. As you know the Hornet is more the capable of putting coyotes down inside 250. If its a nuisance job and ranges could exceed 250yds. Well in that case Ill take the 243. , but again I use 85gr.HP.
