Update

Just got off the phone with the hospital. They have done about every test I have ever heard of, including MRI, cat scans, ultra sound of the heart and carotid arteries, and a total brain scan, with no sign of a stroke, which is of course good news. They have discovered imbalances of certain electrolytes, in particular postassium and magnesium. They feel she will be released to come home tomorrow, and she has more doctor appts. with the specialists on Tuesday.

Using this week to get her metabolism straightened out. Hydra therapy starts twice a week next Monday. Pain Mgt. doctor wants to give her more epidural injections, but the earliest available date right now is Sept. 21 unless he gets a cancellation. That seems awfully slow to me, but I have no control over it. As long as Nedra fights it, I'll fight right beside her.

No hydra therapy this week, but Nedra starts back twice a week next week. The pain mgt. doctor will give her another epidural on Sept. 21, and the vascular doctor meets with her on Sept. 28 to discuss the carotid artery blockage.

She is still giving it her all and I am trying to help her any way possible. I rub her hip and leg several times a day and apply aspercreme with lidocane, which seems to help her a good deal. I am hoping and praying that the upcoming epidural will help her a bunch.

Nedra had another epidural injection on the 21st, and so far, it seems to be helping her a lot. She has an appt. this coming Monday with a vascular specialist to discuss the blockage in her carotid artery. We are fighting together and it helps me to see her fight so hard. Thanks to all for the good wishes and prayers.

Nedra went to the vascular surgeon yesterday, and it was reported to her that one carotid artery is blocked 75% and the other 71%. He said she was a walking time bomb as to having a stroke. He will clear out the worst side within two weeks and then do the other side when she is completely healed from the first procedure.

Heading out now to take her to hydra therapy.

WOW! That's not good at all. I pray the surgeon takes care of it sooner than later.
