Coyote Hunting Canis latrans. Ky'ote. Ky'otee. Whatever you want to call it, it's one of the most popular predators hunted in the world today.

Default Mid-day/early afternoon coyotes question.

Good morning. I am curious about mid-day or early afternoon coyote hunting. Is it possible, or should I say likely, to find success going out between the hours of 12-2pm? Or is that moreless a waste of time?

Thanks,
Brandon.

We 98% of the time, day hunt. A very large % of our coyotes are shot from 11 am to 3 pm.
That said.
UP here in fur season ( fall, winter) our days are only 8 to 10 hours long and they feed all day.
In the summer the better times are from 6 pm to dark or sunup to around 9 am. But we call all day we still get some takers.

Mid day hours have always been good for me, especially in really cold weather. You are apt to catch the coyotes bedded down, and they wake up hungry like most dogs do.

Thanks for opining! My schedule has been a little screwy lately but, I'm still itching to get back out. I had never tried mid day before so I figured some of you had.
