Default My coyote season has came to an end

My season started last September and i quit hunting coyotes at the end of march and focus on things around home.Out of the five contests i entered i was blessed enough to call in and harvest coyotes for four of them. And lost a wounded one during the big Mosquito Creek hunt in Pa in February. And also lost one the night of march 25th during the Pennsylvania Predator Hunters Association's March Madness Hunt. And flat out called in and missed two others during that month long hunt. Was a pretty good year for me. Was able to put 7 in the truck. Now come on September!!!! I'm ready to start all over again

I built a 17 Ackley Hornet back before Hornady and Ruger brought the 17HH out on the market. Love that little rifle(17 Ackley Hornet), impressive trajectory and ballistics. Stay after em next year and good luck to you.

What PPHA district are you in?

I'm in Adams County but haven't renewed by PPHA dues last couple years. Been hunting MD mostly.

That 17HH really isn't what folks thought it was......I have flattened a zillion reds with it but won't chance it when going for strictly yotes. How far were your pokes?

most were inside 150.. The one i got beginning of march was checked the following morning with a rangefinder at 320 yards. It was a neck shot at the base of the skull. Anywhere else i would have lost it i'm sure

I agree with you. I've popped a few reds at 300+ but wouldn't feel good about throwing a poke at a yote with the 17HH at that distance (that's my opinion, not trying to rattle the cage of 17HH snipers). Even inside 150 I'd like more gun. My 17HH is a dedicated fox gun.

Welcome aboard....I know you've been around a couple months but look forward to your posts.
