Hornady 17 Hornet Ammo

Evening everyone, I recently got rid of my Ruger 17 Hornet (hope to replace with a 204 Ruger) which has left me with some ammo. If anyone is interested please let me know and we can can certainly continue to talk via PM, email or phone. Please note that I have written on some of the boxes noting the date and price I bought them for.

Hornady 20 gr V-Max = 274 Rounds
Hornady 25 gr Hollow Point = 99 Rounds

Chad, I made a mistake. I just picked a box of 50 rounds of 25 gr. HP For $37.00 plus tax. I'm in NY and in my area it's hard getting ammo. I was able to get factory 20gr. V Max. I Killed a coyote at 120yds DRT. it blew a hole out the side about 1 1/2 inches. So I have been reloading 25 gr HP. and love them out to 200yds. Dropped my biggest coyote this year past 170yds. DRT. So far no fur damage on my foxes and coyotes. But I always wanted to compare them to factory ammo. Have you ever shot the 25gr. HP factory ammo ? If they hold a good group, I will use these only for a little bit further range, but nothing close due to their FPS.

I reload the midway dogtown 20 grain hp for my 17 fireball. Absolutely love them for fox and groundhogs but would probably be good for about anything. Sometimes it's hard to see where I hit the foxes until the blood comes out. Tiny entrance, no exit. Internally does some major damage because they don't go anywhere.

Haven't had much experience with the 17 hornet yet but I will probably end up reloading 20 hp in it once I get more brass. Shot one fox in the chest facing me with the 20gr. Imax and had a huge entrance. Haven't used it since. Going to use it on groundhogs this summer to get some brass.
