Default Season is almost over...

I got to do a few stands early Saturday. Temperature was in the 40ís and there was a light south wind.
First stand I missed a fast charging red that came in to platinum grey. When I was following his tracks to make sure I didnít hit it started barking from the security of pine thicket. We barked back and forth to each other for a while but he never showed himself again.
Next stand I set up on a fence row in a field bordering a large swamp. I started out with platinum grey at low volume and and kept increasing the volume. After the first time playing the whole way through at full volume a I see eyes streaking across the field and into the woods across from me. He kept going back and forth in the woods and didnít want to come out. I shut off the caller and light for about 30 seconds. When I turned everything back on he was out in the field just standing there looking my way. When I shot I heard the hit and he started a screaming that sounded just like grey fox in distress. I went over to where I shot him and there was blood everywhere but no fox. I followed his tracks to a small creek but lost them.
I came back at first light and found him 50 yds away laying in the creek.

Congrats, good story. It looks like the turkeys may have come in at first light as well.
