Default Illinois hunters

Hey guys, just curious if anyone from Illinois has had any luck this last week? My buddies and I have hit some of our "Honey Holes" this last week or so and we have only called in one coyote, he got hit but never found him. We were hunting at night, seen him hit the dirt, but he must have gotten up and slipped away while we continued to scan the field. I'm n central illinois, just curious how everyone else is doing around us. I am hoping this thursday and friday are good, sounds like the temps are going to rise and then the bottome is going to drop out.

I called in 2 yesterday, got 1, and Stevenb and I called in one today. That's all I've been out this week.

I guess thats how this game is played. Really took the wind out of our sails by not getting anything to come in at our honey holes. I wont be able to go till atleast thursday. Good luck

I have talked about this on this site before but I have noticed a huge difference in my success with the moon phase. my hunting partner and I struggled something terrible last weekend and once again the moon was getting smaller everyday. From looking at our log book of kills from the last few years we have noticed starting at the new moon (this sunday by the way) we get more successful every weekend up to the full moon and then tapering off as it starts to get smaller. We have had outstanding days with a new moon as long as it is up when we are calling. Just my observations.

I have to agree calling nut, I know that you can call them in any time anywhere, but the moon as you describe does seem to help us as well. Good luck
