Default First (only) bobcat

Called this bobcat in yesterday. Took almost 45 minutes of calling but it was a nice day and a beautiful spot so I didn't mind. I spent 20 minutes attaching a video camera to my rifle with zip ties (bailing twine and duct tape are sooo 1990's) so I could film anything I called in. When I saw the bobcat I quickly turned on the camera, took the shot, and narrated the story. I was so excited to have my first bobcat kill on video. It was across a wide canyon at a distance of 264 yards. But it wasn't meant to be, after I shot the bobcat and retold the entire story to the camera, I realized that I had forgotten to push the record button! I still had my cat and it was a beauty-30 pounds! I'm going to have this one mounted.

Congratulations! It sure would have been great to catch it all on video, but it isn't easy. My buddy likes to film while I call and shoot. More often than not he forgets to power up the camera or the camera shuts down on it's own. If everything goes right with the camera, I'll miss or the animal is in a bad spot to film.
At any rate, you got yourself a nice bobcat. Congratulations!

It's funny you say that you forgot to hit record. From what I have seen on the hunting shows it happens more than evan they would like to admit. Congrats on a great cat.

Sorry to hear about the camera not being on, that's a huge bummer. But, way to go on a great looking bobcat!
