Please share your thoughts concerning thermal hunting. Personally, it would not be my cup of tea, but I don't condemn others that use it. I don't like using snares either if that gives you any thoughts. I like calling coyotes in, during daylight hours, and making DRT shots.

I've never used thermal. When I hunt at night I use lights. That said, lights cannot be used in much of Utah, but thermal is legal. Go figure, huh? I would use thermal if I could afford it. My overall preference is the same as yours, Al. Daytime calling is my overall favorite.

Hunting with an ecaller, and red, amber, or white lights is a big advantage, in my opinion, You'll see a lot more coyotes that way than you will in daytime, as they are out stirring more during those hours. I wouldn't use the thermal if they gave it to me.
