Feline Hunting No, not the place for housecats. This is for the "other"cats, including bobcats and mountain lions (the BIG cats). |

As luck would have it I shot my first bobcat yesterday ½ before dark. 164 yards, Ruger 17 WSM. He was 22 pounds. What shall I do with him? Full mount or just tan the hide?

Congrats, nice cat. I had mine full body mount. I looked at a lot of taxidermist mounts in order to get who I believed would do the best work. Trust me not all taxidermist can mount cats. Mine cost $645.00 Being the possibility of once in a lifetime, I did not care about the cost as much as the quality.

Thanks Night Eyes. I googled some bobcat mounts and you are right. Some are downright scary. I am sure you posted it elsewhere, but may I ask you to post the pic of your mount?

Nice pose, I really like the eyes. You get to relive it every time you look up at him. Still have not decided whether or not to do the full mount.

Thank you. I had it mounted because, 1) I probably would of got $50.00 on the market. 2) Their kind of of rare around here and it probably more then likely it would be the only one I would ever get. A male Bobcat home range is 125 square miles, a female home range is 37 miles. I live within 2 miles of a city. I was shocked to say the least when I saw him. Just like I was when I called in Fishers.
