For me it's the fear of shooting a mother after she has given birth knowing the little pups will starve.die a horrible death...With that being said, if one decided to show up during my spring turkey...

I usually stop targeting them at the end of March...around my parts most drop their pups Mid April...with the long days and warmer weather, the coyote hunting desire is definitely not as strong now.

Coolest hunt ever

Needing to kill 3 hours before picking up my son from his friends place (which just so happens to be near one of the farms I got permission to hunt) decided to try some afternoon coyote hunting........

If you are trying squeak type sounds and find they don't bring them closer, try raccoon fighting.... I mean if coyote pup distress can't bring them in, maybe a good fight will.

Yes, we talked about that, he just was shaking too much and not able to hold his rifle steady. He took his rifle off the shooting sticks I had him use and that is what may have screwed it up for...

I headed out this morning with a friend of mine for his very first official coyote hunt. We got to the farm and setup just before legal light. We got settled in and waited about 5 minutes or so...
